Auxillary fan failure!

Just wanted to know if anyone actually has an aux fan ( the one for your transmission radiator/cooler) that actually does work I've had 3 e36's now on which none have worked! I've put a brand new radiator on and in the process i pulled the fanblade right off by popping that little circlip i sorta wanted to get it going again but hey if its useless then i just wanted to here you gents say it and leave it off for higher air flow just looking for some opinions is all, and yes i do know the relays are prone to failure just wondering if its worth the effort or if its just unnecessary
Thanks in advanced.

I highly recommend having a functional aux fan. It's worth taking a little bit of time to make sure your cooling system is working correctly. It's not really that hard, either.
