New BMW Kayak Carrier II for newer BMW Models

BMW of North America is announced the addition of a new kayak carrier – the BMW Kayak Carrier II. This new kayak carrier has all the same great features as the original and is applicable to newer BMW models. Both kayak carriers can hold a variety of single-occupant watercrafts, and feature a lockable folding mechanism for increased overhead clearance when not in use.

• Easily holds any kayak up to 34" wide and/or 75 lb.
• The advanced, wide mouth j-cradles style design makes it easy for one person to load a kayak.
• Fully adjustable, premium padding gently cradles and protects the watercraft, ensuring snug & secure positioning during transit.
• Ultra-strong, steel tubing construction with a rust-resistant powder-coat finish.
• Easily transfers from one vehicle to another if ever necessary.
• J-cradle angles take up much less cross bar space than other kayak carriers, providing plenty of room for connecting two or more kayak carriers or adding other roof mounted accessories.
• Original BMW Accessories are warranted for the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period (4 Years/50,000 miles) when the installation occurs before the first delivery of a new vehicle. If the Original BMW Accessories installation occurs after the first delivery, the accessory will be warranted for the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period or two years and unlimited mileage from the date of installation, whichever is greater.

Both part numbers include front and rear j-cradles, all mounting hardware for easy installation/removal, 2 heavy-duty load straps, buckle bumpers, a pair of tie-down straps for optionally securing kayak bow and stern to vehicle during transport and a tow eye hook.

Any idea if this would work on a E83 Base Support System?

Strange that BMW doesn't list the E83 for either the Kayak Carrier I or II. This might be something that is best figured out at the dealer by test fitting the carrier to make sure it fits.
