2014 X1 - First Bimmer

Hi Bimmerfest, just wanted to say 'Hello,' and I'm a Bimmer newbie. Just bought my first, a 2014 X1 xDrive 28i xLine in the Boston suburbs.

Fantastic car. Took me a couple of tries to get the Bluetooth connection to my phone set up (technology package is nice), but after seven years driving a base-model Rav4, I feel like I'm driving a go-kart with rocket boosters.

Anyways, that's all I have... hello Bimmerfesters, it's nice to be one of y'all.

Enjoy! My X1 is also my first BMW. However I came from a WRX with a manual trans so the X1 actually feels less sporty.

Yeah, I am doing the same. Am getting my 2015 X1 x35i in a couple of weeks to replace my 2004 WRX wagon. I would so loved to have gotten an 2015 STi if it came in hatchback form. Ah well...

I had a 2005 Mazda 3 2.3L manual before the Rav, which was the sportiest car I've ever owned, but I can see how going from a WRX would be a bit of a downgrade in racing-type feel.

Welcome!

My X1 is my first BMW as well and I'm coming from 4-cylinder RAV4 too ... So far, the X1 is well beyond my expectations - very happy!

My 2014 X1 35i M Sport is also my first BMW...and yes, I too came from a Rav-4 (2002) which was useless going up a hill (I could walk up hills faster than the ole Rav would drive up them).

You will enjoy your X1! Congrats on your purchase!

On my first trip from Monterey to Lodi over Pacheco Pass
I got 31.6 mpg. Current milage on my X1 is 545 miles so
this is great mpg for a brand new engine.
