Finished Combox and 6NR Retrofit

I finally completed the Combox and 6NR retrofit. The retrofit was done by Patrys on the E92 forum over at Bimmerpost. It went pretty smoothly. It works perfectly, just like it does from the factory. I have an August production 2011 X5 50i. Album art is really cool, along with Bluetooth audio streaming. Office functionality is minimal since I only have an Iphone. I also have internet access using tethering from the Iphone. The BMW connected apps is really cool, although the hardware is not out yet (Base plate and Iphone 4 cradle) for Ipod out and video functionality. Patrys was really awesome and was always available. Ill post some pics so everyone can see. If you have any questions, contact Patrys over at Bimmerpost E92 forum, he can answer any questions.

I assume it is matter of coding. Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to order BMW apps with X5d. However, I heard that when having smartphone integration option, it will be possible to code BMW apps. The question is whether it will be possible with BMW / when you do the coding with someone else whether you will not lose the warranty...

I need this, how do you get it? Any more details on the step-by-step available? If there happen to be any bugs, can you reset the code to factory settings?

Hi

I just receive all the required parts to retrofit my X5, but I just want to be sure where I can find the Base Plate for the 6NR retrofit cable, where is that?

Hey,

The retrofit looks great! I have a quick question however. My 2011 35i has a 08/2010 build date, and it's already got nav and what not. I'm assuming that it does not have combobox right now. Besides the album art, does combo box give me anything else?

I'm not too worried about BMW apps at the moment. I find the existing audio player menu a bit basic, so I was hoping for an upgrade.
