Error reading FA (Trying to update ZGW thro url)

So i was trying to update my car, and i have read a lot about it, i understand that i must start with ZGW then update other ECU's and the connection must be through gateway url

now i have coded the car earlier and everything went ok; but when i connect through gateway and try to read VO i get this error:

even though the connection is successful and VO is stored in VCM when checked through VIN connection.

ive tried to update through VIN but midway error happened and the car went to transport mode.

so any ideas how to proceed with update
e-sys version 3.26.1
psdzdata version: 54 full
i-step shipment : F010-10-06-512
i-step target: F010-14-11-501

Hello!

Are you sure that you used the correct IP on port 6801? It should be the IP from the car (you can check it with ZGWsearch or via some other tools). If you used the IP from the network details from windows this IP is normally not correct. It seems that E-Sys would established the connection, but the result is an error like you got.

So double-check the IP and try it again.

Question: Can you go to Control Panel and take a screenshot of 'Network and Sharing Center'?

Also, are you able to successfully update all other ECUs?

well i am not working on the car now; but if you want info about the connection during update ill illustrate it
after i hit start E-sys will start the process by preparing the ecu, 2:30 minutes counter shown, around 1 minute before ending the update the connection to the car is reset (off and on) after 20 seconds while the connection is not limited yet (yellow triangle) e-sys will stop showing the above error.

for the second question, yes i have updated the KOMBI successfully after 12 minutes process

Okay, so if it updated your KOMBI successfully, this is what I would do.

Once you connect the cable to the vehicle and your computer, before you open any programs, let the Network Connection be identified by Windows as a limited network. Then go into 'Network and Sharing Center' in your Control Panel, and it will likely mark the Limited Network as an 'Unidentified Network' and a 'Public Network'. If this is the case, do as follows:

- Unplug your connection to your car.
- Open 'Run...' prompt by holding Windows Key + R and type in 'secpol.msc' (without the apostrophes) and hit Run. This will open the Local Security Policy.
- On the Left pane, select 'Network List Manager Policies' and then in the Right pane, double-click 'Unidentified Networks'.
- Set the 'Location type' to 'Private' and hit OK.
- Close the 'Local Security Policy' and reconnect your car.
- Let it identify and it should mark it as 'Unidentified Network' and 'Private Network'.
- If so, open up E-Sys and connect via Gateway URL.

Let me know if that helps/works!

If that is not the case, then possibly try using a different E-Sys version. I attempted to use 3.24.3 and it failed, but with 3.26.1, it worked flawlessly.

Thnx Halsifer, i have already changed the unidentified network settings and tried the policy change, but still the same.

As for KOMBI cruise control is not working, i guess since i did not update ZGW?!?

If you are able to update your other ECUs, then it's likely the connection you have between your car and your computer. Make sure that network is set to Private and disable any firewalls that may be active. That was the immediate fix for me because I had the same error as you once. If that doesn't work, then I've got no idea.

I would also try uninstalling E-Sys completely, delete your C:/Data folder (excluding the psdzdata), and start from new. I once closed E-Sys improperly and it did not function properly at all until a reinstall. Doesn't hurt to try. Otherwise, I wish you luck my friend.

Hello!

You have to flash your ZGW otherwise the cruise control will not work. If you are not able to do it with an enet cable you have to use an Icom. I saw some CIC cars which weren't able to get their ZGW flashed by Enet. The only way was an Icom.

Hello!

You can give it a shot. ISTA/P will connect in a different way to the car. The problem is the IP-connection when the ZGW goes into the transport mode and demands a new IP and isn't able to get one in a really short time. The other possibility is to set the IP to a fix IP (via Transmitter) and to try the flash with this setting again.

You are right, after (finalize prepare vehicle for flash ) process the ZGW disconnect and connects through totally random IP every time, i tried to give static IP through transmitter but no response, ill wait ISTA/P to finish downloading on my lousy internet service and try my best to drive without cruise control

Hello, I have the same problem with my Zgw.
To solve the problem, you have used Icom+E-sys or Icom+Ista/p?
I don`t know what to buy. Just Icom or Icom+Hdd?
Thank you.
