IOS 6 for iPhone and Connected drive

Well, this AM emails stopped working and I repeated the steps I described above and working again

I didn't realize you can only read emails while in park .... Suxx

I was driving and wife did check emails on iDrive

Anything beyond 3 lines of the mail seemed to work like in car user manual. I have to try it again later

I tested it again after I went to the vehicle, and again emails did not go through, went to each email and turned off notifications and turned them back on and started working again. It looks like with each start I have to do this to be able to get the emails.

Hopefully, Apple will release a bug fix update to iOS6 for this. I'm assuming it's on Apple's end since the BB works flawlessly.

Bugs will get sorted soon, lots O BMW's in Cupertino - This functionality has been a long time coming for the iphone community and I'm happy it's finally here.

Agreed! I've been very anxious for iOS6 and MAP for one simple reason. I hated getting a text while I'm listening to Pandora or MOG and have to end my music session to see what a new text is with iOS5. Now, with iOS6, I don't have to do that.

Another thing... If you guys are upset that Google Maps have gone away, there is a work around:

Go to Google Maps on your Safari Browser. When you do, it will prompt you at the bottom of the page to set it to your homepage. When you do this, it will add a Google Maps icon on your homepage, similar to the old one (it just doesn't show Cupertino anymore). Easy Peezy!

Also, Google released a YouTube app in the App Store which is far superior to Apple's outdated, preloaded YouTube app.

Here is my Navigation folder on my homepage. Note the preloaded Apple "Maps" and "Google Maps" right beside it.

Nahh man not me lol. I do have a lot of Navigation Apps lol, but then again, i am a navigation guru. Anyway, a lot of people in all different Forums on here are complaining about Apple's Maps and that they liked Google better. Just giving a heads up on how to get it back as a quick access.

I'm just taking iOS 6 in bit by bit as I stumble across stuff. So far, I'll give it a aside from this text/e-mail mess. Panorama is pretty cool - expect it to be overused in future videos just for the hell of it lol.

Yeah but it's no longer integrated. No turn by turn or integrated w the other apps or iOS.

I didn't realize Google maps had turn by turn on OS5 before but I see what you're saying. Maybe Google will release an actual App like they did with YouTube which you can set to default map. I barely use it anyway.

Yo! Happy Healthy Bro. Yes been awhile!

Here in FL I never use maps at all but in NYC (been gettin up once/month) it's a big help. Not for getting around (I know my way) but for all the ways the iOS and other apps were tied into it.

I'm sure apple will sort it out but google was already there. There's nothing to "fix" w google 'cept apple's

Looks like Apple released iOS6 too soon. Email isn't working with the MAP in Office and people are complaining about Apple Maps. I predict an iOS6.1 soon. I think they were trying to beat a deadline and failed.

I typed in four old addresses in Manhattan. Only one was found correctly. Two sent me to Blkyn. One pin landed in Hoboken. That's pretty pathetic.

I got my iPhone 5 tonight - earlier than expected

I haven't had a chance to play with it much aside from just connecting via BT - gonna try to figure outrage messaging tomorrow and see how it goes.

It's kinda a mess right now because I need to upgrade my OS from Lion to Snow Leopard to own load the latest iTunes so I can sync my 5 with my 4S backup. I'm ashamed of myself for getting so behind with my software, but I have the disk being overnighted to have Saturday so I can marry my phone with no data but all my info with the new phone with data but no info. Gotta admire Apple for the marketing genius of forcing me to buy their software right after buying a +$400 phone. Sneaky but brilliant...

Hopefully I'll have it all working and integrated with the car by Sunday morning...

Curious how the iPhone 5 (with iOS 6) integrates with the BMW vs the iPhone 4S (with iOS 6). The office functions of the iPhone 4S is glitchy, mainly for emails.

Congrats on the new phone! I've been loving mine, although the weight difference takes some adjustment.

My office had text messages working but not emails with my 4s and iOs 6. My new iPhone 5 doesn't show the new tab under office so no texts or emails at the moment. There is no update yet on iOS 6 so I'm back to where I was before iOs 6 came out

My iPhone 5 is showing texts via BT (only when received when I'm in the car already) but still no email. The old tech BB was better in this respect as it synced all texts and email. I guess we're all waiting on software fix. BTW I'm running 3.5.4 in the car.

I've been getting emails in my idrive using 650iQ7s method of going to notifications in the phone and cycling on-off-on for each email account.

Only problem is that it still goes under text messages section, not email messages.

Works for now until we get a bug fix, I guess.

+1. This is what I'm getting as well. I can't say that I've gotten an e-mail while driving - that I've noticed anyway - but I just have the email icon (envelope + @) with a "0" next to it. I noticed the envelope text icon show up by the clock when the text came through, then I went to "office" then "current office."

It definitely has some kinks that need to be worked out, but it's better than what we've had before. It would be really nice if there were to add an icon to access Siri so that we could reply to the text being viewed, but I think that may be asking for too much.
