Try what I said to do above. After the phone connects, go to Notification Center, toggle notifications for each email account off and then on. It works!

As far as the Siri integration, I hope they're working on it like they said they would.

My i5 now works with my Office functions but only shows 2 flavors of messages not three like before with the 4s and iOs 6. I cycled the blue tooth notification on/off setting and now the office shows a field for emails and bmw messages but not text. iOs 6.1 is coming soon at a theater near U...

Will do - for curiosity's sake. That's a bit much, even for me, for my routine when I get in.

Congrats on the new phone! I've been loving mine, although the weight difference takes some adjustment.

lol. Baby steps. I didn't get it the day it came out like every other iPhone of yesteryear. I was surprised to see that the line was eligible earlier than expected, and I had the phone within 12 hours of receiving this info. Still counts as growth in my book. lol.

The weight does take some getting used to. It's very light and slick. I don't have a case as the selection is currently pretty sucky. While I'm tempted to go commando, I think I might still go the bumper route for some mild protection like I had on my 4S. I'm tempted to go the AppleCare+ route where they'll replace it for $49 if there's physical damage, but a broken phone is a hassle, even if they overnight it. Still trying to decide. Such important and difficult decisions...

I turned notifications on in the bluetooth menu and I got my first text in the car. My bluetooth is turned on but I am using the usb cable to listen to music.

It sounds like if you have to switch on notifications to Alert on your accounts, I would go bonkers receiving all these email alerts on the phone while not in the car.

The benefit of seeing emails in the car would be greatly offset by the nuisance of the notifications on the phone.

Text messages on the other hand make more sense to me.

The biggest issue I had hoped for IOS6 to resolve was to play my whole music library that I have via iTunes Match. I thought they would switch to streaming, not downloading.
So far, I can only see the empty playlists, as before (via USB).

Don't you let the car warm up for a minute or two or do you just start it and punch it? I mean, it takes all of 5 seconds lol. Just a work around for Apple dropping the ball on iOS 6, if email notifications are important to you, that is.

Also, emails will come through in the text message section, not the actual email message section... A bug that needs to be corrected.

I'm very impatient lol. Do all if the emails load when you do this or just the ones that come through once you're in the car?

Btw, does anyone else find it extremely irritating to type in apps not reformatted for the bigger screen like this one? I can't tell you how many times I've had words run together because I'm tapping black instead of the space bar. I suppose I'll get used to it, but is almost rather s****** black birder at the top for the sake of consistency when typing.

I use Sparrow for my emails and I run into the same problem. It's the curse of being an early adopter, give it a few months and more apps will support the new resolution.

One of the many reasons I didn't jump into the new phone just yet. Planned on waiting till after the holidays or when BMW produces a cradle... Whichever comes first.

Only the emails that you get from the time the phone connects to the car. Kind of ridiculous since BB syncs all of your emails but at the same time, who needs to clutter the idrive with emails and texts that should've already been read.

It's an assumption not any known beta etc. Folks at apple drive BMW's too, they will fix this on the next release.

I've been going sans case and have liked it. Without a glass back like the 4S, I don't have to obsess constantly about fingerprints, so that's an improvement.

I did buy an Incipio "Feather" case, which adds almost no weight/bulk, but I haven't really used it.

Something new today... When I get an email through my idrive, it's usually cut, showing only the first few lines and followed by a "..." indicating that there's more. Can't see the rest of it.

Earlier today, for the first time, I was able to scroll down to read the whole email, which happened to be a bimmerfest notification.

I don't know what initiated that but has anyone else seen it? That's what my wife's BB does.

To clear all messages I go to the dealership and get a new vehicle.

I had problems receiving e-mail via iDrive until I accidentally forgot to lock my phone prior to docking in my snap-in adapter. If I don't lock my device prior to connecting, then launch the BMW connected app (which prevents iPhone locking), and then connect my phone, I get e-mail reliably (whether I have notifications configured on my Phone or not). I'm guessing not being able to pull e-mail off an iPhone while locked is a security requirement.

Dang... have the iPhone 4 adapter... hand me down from Donna's X5... can access all music and playlists, but can't see any texts or emails... Did the earlier '12 verts come without the UPD1005 updates? Just bought mine, which the dealership had for 4 months...

You do not need the cable or adapter for SMS transfering to iDrive office, need to set up your iPhone bluetooth and notifications. Do not really need the latest bluetooth interface update.

I upgraded today to latest IOS 6.0.1, emails now do not show in iDrive office, only SMS. Even turning off/on notifications for each email.

Same here. I've yet to find a fix.

Can't wait till my Samsung Galaxy Note II comes in the mail so I can tap dance on my iPhone 4S. So glad I didn't *"upgrade"* to the iPhone 5.

I am going to restore the bluetooth interface software to previous version and see. Maybe BMW is working on a new software to let emails go in the correct inbox, and the new ios is not allowing emails to show in the SMS inbox
