Rough idle

My 95 E38 idles rough when under 1500rpm, do anybody know why its like that? Any answers or suggestions are welcomed bmw bretheran.

Looooooooong list. Vacuum leaks, fuel pressure, TPS, Air Mass device, Fuel filter, Spark plug(s), Coil Packs; CPS; Throttle Body settings; VANOS problems; What Codes are being displayed/stored?; Blocked exhaust; Blocked Air Filter; Fuel pump; Loose wires on the EMC loom - That should do as a start

Only codes displayed were o2 sensor then a few weeks later it said lambda, i checked for air leaks and nothing, i always knew that my fuel filter was bad, i was actualy gonna change that already, and of course my o2's. Hopefully something changes.

How do i check the vanos? And can my fuel filter cause war machine to shake, im guessing it effects my fuel pressure?

BTW, this tool (or an equivalent) is indispensable for troubleshooting rough idle misfires:
- Cheapest CAN OBDII scanner on the net that reads DTCs, pending codes, & clears codes

I thought 95 740il doesnt have vanos?
