Swaybar problem!
Hey guys I've been having a leak for a while so I took it to my guy who is specialist in BMWs and he told me its the active sway bar that's leaking its bad and he said its going to cost me about 1600 for the parts and labor is separate but he told me after he installs it that I would have to bring it to BMW to balance it out or reprogram it? I'm not sure about this just wondering if you quys can help me out please

Im fairly new to the board and only know about electronics install....but if your guy is a BMW specialist he should have the tool to ALSO program your car after he does the work. If you have to take it there to get fixed and then have to take it to BMW to get programed you might want to see how much BMW charge for the whole sha-bang

Your best bet is going to be to contact your local dealer service department. Prices will most likely vary from location to location so you have more than one dealer near by I'd call them all.

Alright I guess ill try that and see how that goes and why does it need to be programmed why Does it like what does it do ?

Since you have a 745, you can get away with non- D-CAN interface, which will only run you $12-$40 on eBay for the cable and INPA. You can do / have him do the ARS initialization procedure using that. Where are you located? ...there may be a member near you with INPA who can help you with that.
If I recall correctly, the initialization procedure rocks the car side to side at different angles and learns a ton of different things from the ARS system's sensors to calibrate the system.

I got mine replaced about 4m ago. The dealer charged $2400. $1700 for the bar/fluid and $700 for labor. It also state 2.2 units of labor which most probably 2.2 hrs. I think the labor rate is like $180/h so its like $400 for labor and $300 for programming?

Oh really ? The software can be on your lap tops ? How though I thought that was a special program like software they used in the dealerships that no one could access and the INPA is the software the dealerships use
