Mein Auto: 2012 F10 - Jet Black
Just picked up my F10! Questions...

Hey guys... I just took delivery of a 2012 528. Jet Black on Black. Nav...

When I got home I noticed there was no first aid kit or triangle in the trunk.

Also... Maybe some owners of black F10's can chime in on how to keep this thing looking clean. I mean I always loved black BMWs but right now I'm terrified if I made a mistake buying Jet Black.

Thanks. I look forward to years of advice from this great forum. My first two mods will be tint and color matched reflectors.

I had a black e60 530i and let me tell you, keeping the wheels sparkling clean actually makes the rest of the car look cleaner too. I washed my car once a month, but wheels once every 3-4 days and for the most part it looked really clean.

Let me know if the mod bug hits you any harder than tints and reflectors haha! Congrats on your new beast and enjoy her in the up-most best of health bud

The first aid kit and the triangle no longer come standard with the F10, you can buy it online.

Black sure looks good when clean, especially jet black. I almost bought jet black, but I just dont have the time time to clean my car every week and I dont like using automatic car wash. So I settle for the next best color, dark graphite. It almost shines as much as black and hides dirt better.

With regard to wheels, Armor All makes a spray wheel protectant, you can buy a 7oz can on Amazon for ~$5. Apply to a CLEAN and dry wheel and it will last for at least 2-3 weeks if you don't touch it. (May last about 2 weeks if you get a lot of rain). This product has worked great for me and I don't have to clean my wheels every week.

Once a month!!!! You CA guys have it so good. I'm washing mine and my wife's cars once a week. Agree with you 100% regarding keeping the wheels clean though.

We get rain...for like half a month every year I'm loving your Panamera! Such a beautiful car and the interior is top notch, how are you liking it?

Congratulations! As was said before, the first-aid kit and triangle are no longer included...at least not in the cars that come to the U.S.

Thanks, and forgive me for saying that I am thoroughly loving the 4S. I really can't hate on CA, since my wife is from L.A. and we go there about 3-4 times a year. Next to Paris, L.A. is one of the best cities I've experienced thus far to see amazing-looking cars! Saw an absolutely gorgeous black SLS Roadster driving down Pico when we were there last month.

I frequently pass by Platinum Motorsport on Sunset Blvd, last time I passed by they had a matte black Carrera GT, a widebody matte white Bentley, and a matte black Lamborghini Murcielago. LA is full of beautiful cars and I'm pretty happy I'm the reason for a few of them We've worked on some Lambos, Ferraris, etc.

Really depends on your level of neurosis. I'm at one end of the spectrum so I can't have a black car. If I were you I would find a very good detailer and have him polish your car then apply a permanent sealant like Opti-Coat, so you won't have to wash the car with your breath.

I too just took delivery of a 2013 F10. There are only two tools in that kit. No first aid or triangle for that matter.

We had a black sapphire E60 and that was a beauty. However, the OCD side of me won't allow me to buy another black car.

Thanks for the replies. I just got my windows tinted and it takes my car to another level. I went with Llumar CTX at 30% all around. I love the look of this ceramic film!

I'm trying to find a detailer that can do paint correction and opti guard in San Diego.

Search optimium opticoat 2.0 for permanent paint and wheel protection. Do it ASAP since the paint is fresh.

Lots of reviews and videos about this stuff.

Another benefit of European Delivery. You get a triangle and a first aid kit. Here you just get a screwdriver and some empty compartments

Like Stavrs said, you can get the first aid kit and the triangle with your car, but you have to do a European Delivery. Then, prior to dropping the car off for shipping back home you need to take them out and carry them home. Otherwise they will be removed at the Vehicle Distribution Center.

Im in California and I wash mine once every 2-3 weeks or more frequently, depending. Of course I have black sapphire metallic, so it shows everything. I take our 2008 MDX to the car wash, most of the time, but never take the 5er..always hand wash myself.

Try hanging out in Newport Coast (kind of between Newport Beach and Laguna Beach). Whenever I am down there on vacation there are amazing cars.
