e92 coding

I am interested in getting a cable and software to code my 2008 e92. From what I read there appears to be two different cables one being DCAN. How can I check which cable I need?

Buy the K+DCAN from one stop electronics dot com. It is very reliable and works for all the cars from 2000.

Ok thanks, do you have to have a powerful laptop to code? mine is 30GB hard drive, 1GB Ram, 1.4Ghz processor. Would this suffice?

You don't need a powerful laptop; I used to use a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 with 1GB of memory and a 1.6 GHz processor. It wasn't fast but I never had a problem. Just make sure you don't have a lot of unnecessary stuff running in the background and you should be fine.

If you're only doing E Series coding, that is plenty if space.

2 GB space is enough for E series.
