Sirius without ZPP

I did a quick search, and found only a couple of entries for my question. My 2011 535i had the Sirius option as a stand-alone option for $350. I'm planing on updating to a 2014, where Sirius is now bundled with the $1500 ZPP, which I really don't need. I think this bundling was also used for 2013 MY. Has anyone had their Sirius feature activated on their car not equipped with ZPP? Is it simply a matter of activating the receiver already present in the standard radio set? Cost? Did the dealer do it for you? Any info is appreciated.

Sirius tuner has been built-in into the iDrive since MY2010.

Contact forum vendor BimmerTech for details and pricing on their remote Sirius enabling codes (FSC) loading into your NBT iDrive. It will be slightly cheaper and quicker than at the dealer.

They can code several disabled features of your F10 at the same time if you want.

My car doesn't have sirius; I have the sirius app on my iPhone and pay like $12/month and play it via Bluetooth audio.

It does, it is just not enabled.

What level of kbps Sirius uses via their app? Their satellite feed is a lousy 32-48kbps...

They claim 128kbps, it doesn't sound bad.
