6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

645 high milege......
I'm interested in purchasing a 645, but all of the ones in my price range (20k) have 90k +. I don't plan on using it as my daily driver. I just want to know if they are reliable with high mileage.

Here is one of the many threads on the subject. If you've owned other BMWs before then you will have an pretty good idea what you are in for. Like all high performance German cars the 6er will require more maintenance than you average Japanese car, these are not Toyotas.
If the car has been well maintained you should not have too many problems. Just keep in mind that these cars were $80K + when new and the maintenance is in line with a big $ car, not a Honda Civic. There are a few complex systems on the car and they will cost a small fortune to fix if they need fixing. If you are worried about big ticket fixes then I would buy an aftermarket warranty. If you are stretching it at $20K and can't afford an occasional $1K fix then I would keep looking. Gas and tire consumption are also very high. The 6er is a blast to own though and if you really want one you won't regret it.
