Talking I'm finally an official member of the F30 forum...

That's right, dropped off the E90 and picked up my F30 today. Drove it back from LA to San Diego. Wonderful experience with Greg Poland at Pacific BMW. And absolutely love the car so far. Will probably take some time to figure out the perfect seating position though.

I so want to really push the car, but I'm going to break it in properly. I will probably do a longer review at some point. But so far the most favorite things, off the top of my head...

1. How it looks. Definitely better in person than on pics. Especially the interior. The red line with aluminum and black seats with red stitching all look awesome.
2. The sound the engine/exhaust makes at startup. Just makes you want to drive ASAP lol. Also the sound during driving. Had no problems with any road noise, and the engine sounds great with the windows/moonroof open.
3. How fast it is, even with keeping it under 4k rpm. A lot of cars feel fast off the line, but it doesn't necessarily mean the car is fast. But going like 60-80, that's where power truly shines. The difference in being able to do a quick maneuver in 2 secs vs 5 secs can be life saving. I was impressed with how effortless it was to speed up, regardless of the current speed. Gotta love turbos.
4. The huge difference between Sport and Comfort with DHP. Very noticeable and totally changes the driving feel. I really like both of them and will find use for both...and even Eco Pro.
5. ASS really isn't that bad. There were times when it was slightly annoying, but overall I can see myself occasionally using it.

The only dislike is that the door handle digs into my knee when I sit in one way. When on long drives, I shift around between slightly different positions, and one I commonly use isn't very comfortable anymore. The E90 didn't have that handle on the driver's side so it wasn't an issue. Kind of a stupid complaint, I know. I'm sure I'll get used to it. Thankfully that ridiculous "problem" is my only dislike so far, which makes me very happy.

Couldn't have done it without you guys!

Attached are some horrible iPhone pics I took right after seeing the car for the first time...I plan to eventually have a professional photographer friend take some nice ones.

Congrats. Great looking car.

Now quit driving side-saddle and all will be well.

Congratulations mate!

You will have to update your sig.

It also looks like the steering wheel is on the wrong side

Enjoy the car.

Congrats Supermax! Looks exactly like my car I picked up two weeks ago....deja vu! Anyway...enjoy. I'm still toiling through the break-in process at 700 miles myself. Looks great and have fun!

Thanks everybody! Just drove the car to show it to my parents and take them for a 5 min ride. They both loved it. But more importantly, I got to drive the car! Haha. So much fun.

Although one thing I noticed is that the back end wants to slide out on turns a lot more than on the E90 328i. I think it's just the tons of extra power at low rpm's. This kind of power is going to take some getting used to

P.S. ASS is starting to slightly annoy me....LOL. It's actually pretty cool 95% of the time, but the other 5% it's just wasteful, like when it turns off and has to come back on a second later. I don't mind the slight rumbling at all...it's barely noticeable on the 335. But I just don't want my engine restarting 100 times a day, every day. Regardless of what BMW says, I am confident that it does put more (unnecessary) strain on the engine. So yeah, I will probably recode it.

Nice ride. Pacific BMW used to be the best (cheapest) place to order parts about ten years ago...still?

Congratulations Supermax from One San Diegan to another !
Until you change the coding on the ASS, just disable it as soon as you start your Bimmer !
That is what my wife & I do. We now have almost 5,000 miles , every mile is more fun than
The previous one. .
