Front End Crunching Sound/ drive train rumble
I am sorry if this is redundant but I did a search and came up empty, although I remember a similar thread.
My 2011 535i x-drive has two problems which are somewhat chronic and one is getting worse.
First, there is a crunching noise in the front end, particularly noticeable on turns out of my driveway, but occasionally constant, especially driving over expansion joints on the highway. I thought someone said there was a control arm issue but I could be mistaken.
Second, I have a constant "hum" or low frequency vibration in the drivetrain above about 65-70 mph. It creates a resonance in the cabin. I had the car back at 2000 miles for this, they told me they drove another car which did the same thing, but now at 36K it's getting annoying. I am waiting for an appointment but trying to do my due diligence in advance so the session with service goes easier.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
