E39 GI: 1997 540i Part Out

I found a local 1997 540i, 183k miles, and auto transmission. Wanted to start a gauging interest thread to see what people need before I buy the car to do a part out. Apparently the car is in running shape, but the engine has timing issues, and no clue what shape it's in, although the body looks clean (silver paint). Let me know what you guys want so I can see if it's worthwhile for me to part this car out!

Like I said, gauging interest before I go look at the car tomorrow. Looking to get an idea of what parts to look for before I buy it. Need to check on HID ballasts and working aux fan.

Does (Did?) it have OEM catalytic converters and exhaust? and if so...were they serviceable (not rusted out...probably hard to tell functional condition)?

I'm still in need of cats that do not throw a P0420/P0430 every few hundred miles (aftermarkets not cutting the mustard).
