bmw 520d m sport 08 plate

Hi guys and gals, i have bought my first BMW at last, and only had it 4 weeks it has two month warranty left,
my Question is when i start my car every morning for the last two weeks i really struggle to get it in to gear especially 1st and 2nd and reverse but once i have run it for a few miles it warms up and the gears become smooth to change again i have had a amber handbrake symbol come up for a quick two seconds then it disappears but ive only had this appear twice so dont know if its connected to my gears problem
would really appreciate some help on what to do thanx
