Did you soldered onto the right points? Is the AUX wire grounded properly? What cable are you using?

I would check the solder points. It should work like a charm. I should keep the radio function just for resale value. Once soldered on properly you could just leave an iPod connected and you would never have to listen to your radio.

why does it seem like you have you separate wires being soldered onto the board? What kind of cable are you using?

I think that maybe that's why your having issues with the FM not cutting out completely.

RadioShack AUX cable works great. Male/female extension 16'. Cut the female end off and strip the wires to solder onto the correct points.

Sounds like you have a ground short with that small of a cable, you should get a shielded cable also.

I could be wrong , But the way you did your wiring looks like the
style used when you need the switch that is used to toggle between
FM Radio & your Ipod or whatever your other source is .

+1.
I actually soldered a female side on the board, if I ever need to change out the AUX cable, I won't have to remove the board and re-solder.

This is a picture Drfitgirl posted earlier in the thread. I would ditch the mouse wire and get an AUX cable.

Tuner Mod - OMG AMAZING SOUND!!

After many unsuccesful attempts to get decent sound (Tunelink, FM transmitter, etc etc) I decised to tackle the tuner mod.

One hour and 20 bucks later (plus 12 dollars for a fine tip soldering iron) I have true HD sound as good or better than CD.

For those on the fence about this mod, DO IT. So easy and cheap. There are plenty of good DIY's with pics etc. All you need is a 3.5mm aux cable which I got for 25 bucks (20ft) at Radio Shack, and a fine tip soldering iron. As stated above, it took me about an hour start to finish and that included running the cable up to the front of the vehicle via the door sills.

I could not believe the sound quality - no hissing, no static, no noise whatsoever. As soon as you plug your phone, ipod, or any other device, the radio switches to your source, REGARDLESS of whether you're on FM, AM and any channel. When you unplug, the radio is back on. Amazing. Wish I had done this long before now.
