I had the same thing recently on my 2011 550i. I have significantly more miles, but I'm wondering if these turbo cars do burn oil? Never happened in the 12 years I owned my 540i-6.

This topic has been covered in many threads. Some owners have needed to add oil as early as 2kmi, but as their cars have begun to age its been reported that their oil adds have reduced. These cars seem to burn more oil until they truly broken-in which may not be until 20kmi. I'm now at 28kmi and my first & only oil add so far was at 11kmi, but I broke my car in hard. BTW, the oil adds are covered by the warranty.

Just want to comment that my car was burning oil like crazy and they finally replaced the PCV valve and now not a single drop of oil has been burned (that registers, anyway). Much better!

Now, if they could just fix my extended-cranking issue...
