Trailer hitch price in Charlotte NC

Hendrick BMW in Charlotte NC is quoting a BMWCCA price of $1,300 to install a trailer hitch on my 2011 X3. Includes parts, labor and BMWCCA 15% discount. Seem pricy. Does anyone know of an alternative in Charlotte?

Thanks
Doug in NC

I paid $1389 in Milwaukee without the 15% discount (or any discount for that matter). The lowest I've heard of it being done is $1050 but my dealer wouldn't budge on the price.

I was charged $700 for the hitch kit + $42.50 for the removable ball + $620 for 5 hours labor + $26 for other materials. You should ask what their labor rate is and do the math. They should not charge you more than 5 hours of labor since that is what BMW specifies in the dealer manual for installing the hitch kit.

I have a 2011 35i; I paid just under $1000 using a curt hitch. this also included wiring for charging a battery on a trailer and electric brakes. In Canada, the BMW hitch would have cost $1600 plus tax.

Good Morning Doug, I represent the Luxury Group for Hendrick Automotive Group in the Charlotte market. I believe someone may have missed something when they quoted this to you in relationship to the BMWCCA discount. Please reach out to me, I have already spoken to both the Parts & Service managers at Hendrick BMW and they want to make this right to you. You could either PM me here (but sometimes the notifications get filtered as spam) or e-mail directly at Rooz.Rafie@Hendrickauto.com and we'll get you taken care of.

Anyone know why you can't order a X3 or X5 from the factory with a trailer hitch? Audi and MB and any other SUV can get one from the factory...why is BMW's an expensive dealer installed option?

I had the BMW hitch installed for $870 using a 20% discount from the BMW dealer. I couldn't pass that deal up. I was quoted $1050 before discount.
