Being new to the BMW world, I love the "10" 535i xdrive I recently bought, but,, I'm have to say im missing my SRT8 power in the last 2 chargers I owned. Been reading a lot about the different tuners for the cars, but really, is there one in particular that is simple, safe for the engine, that will give me that pull in the seat of my pants that I miss?? Lol mopar is a little simpler than these are, buy a diablo tuner, apply tuner, done, 475hp that you could really feel. This xdrive would be a beast with that amount of displacement. I'm not looking for those type of numbers, but it would be nice to surprise a gt 500 or vette without sinking 2-3k into this thing. Thanks in advance

I would be looking at a 550 but really don't want to lay out an extra 10 k .
IMO the F10 550 is ten times the car when compared to a V10 M5. 500hp? Sure, but you can't feel them driving on the streets - that car has NO low rpm torque, it's a dog until the tach hits 5K or so. The auto SMG tranny is clunky and unreliable and the 6 speed manual shifter has longer throws than my Toyota pick up truck - oh, and it's also a gas hog, big time! IMO again, you are much better off keeping the car you have and adding a little extra torque and power via tuning. If you are willing to spend the extra dough the F10 550 is a no brainer.

That would be my warning as well.

The "old" M5 is an amazing, car and 20k miles would be very tempting.

If you can survive financially when the occasional multi-thousand dollar issue crops up, the M would be awesome. If you aren't comfortable with that, I'd pass.

I couldn't make a move back into a E60 because of the interior alone. Its like going back 10 years compared to the F10. Another huge reason is servicing the E60 M5 is going to cost a fortune when stuff breaks.

I seriously wonder where you guys are going or doing with the car where the 535 feels slow. For day to day i find this car plenty quick off the line. Unless you are drag racing light to light the car feels quick enough for what it is. I am coming from a 400+hp 335 6MT myself too.

For me the 535 was def potent enough, very good performer... when the throttle didn't delay.

That TG E60 M5 test part 1 is popular around here lately. I thought it's not more than fair to post the 2nd half.
"Epic, just brilliant" "Like a Ferrari F430" "Tactile" "The steering, the noise" are a few quotes.

Who cares about the sat nav. It's fantastic and a classic. The crescendo of a piece of motoring history that will be sorely missed.

Good At 1:07, 1:35 of the video, the car becomes a M5 at the push of a button and having 507 hp makes a difference. Eat your words, then

ps The E60 M5 is good for the tracks and high revving; if this is the usual mode of driving, it's good as long as the (used) car doesn't give problems.

I was talking to my service advisor and he mentioned he had one customer with an E60 M5 that bought extended warranty - thus far the car has incurred $50K of repairs!?!? outside the original warranty period.

I just read a ton of postings on the E60 M5 board. The SMG transmission sounds like a nightmare for both driving, maintenance and longevity.
