P0171 & P0174 after I added coolant, help!
I added BMW branded coolant (50/50 mix with distilled water bought from walmart), not a flush, because the coolant light was on and off two days before, and the level of coolant was low.
After approx. 40 miles drive, "service engine soon" light was on. Code was read as P0171 & P0174. Mine is 2003 325i. I only had minor issues before, like light bulbs, no engine related issues. Does the coolant that I added have anything to do with the code? Or it was just a coincidence that the SES light was on on the same day? |

Those codes have nothing to do with your cooling system, it's just coincidental that they happened on the same day. Those two codes could point to a vacuum leak. Start by checking your intake boots for leaks. Then move on from there... possibly MAF sensor or O2 sensors.
