What you have to consider is not just how everything fits at static ride height (i.e., parked on level ground), but what happens as you`re driving the car in the real world, with bumps, potholes, railroad tracks, passengers in the car, etc. As the suspension components go through their range of motion, the angle of some of those components changes as well. Then there`s a little-discussed issue, to wit: all tires of the same designated size, *are not the same physical size*....some are quite a bit larger (overall) than others. All of the above (and more) affect wheel clearance.
When choosing a new wheel & tire combo, it`s always best to err on the slightly conservative size....wheels that rub are truly Teh Suck....

These tires have a "replacement indicator." When only the words "REPLACE TIRE" are visible on that center rib, it's time to replace the tire.

It's for the looks of it. I'm not a racer, no track stuff. I just drive it. Plain and simple.

Go too wide and you'll have to roll your fenders. And if you can afford the cost of wide tires, go for it. I personally like the staggered look myself.

I do like the staggered look as well. I guess I just need to find the right wheel and size. I've never test fitted anything.
