Adaptive M - What will it cost to repair?
As I anxiously await our 335xi to finish production and make it's way across the pond, I find myself wondering about the robustness of the Adaptive M suspension I've ordered. Out of curiosity, I was poking around on realoem.com for a hint as to how much one of these adaptive dampers costs.
Here's a link: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...19&hg=33&fg=45 Conveniently, the shock/strut doesn't show a retail price in the part list (you get the same result if you search for the front axle parts). Does anyone have an idea how much these things are? When I take delivery, I'll probably just ask the parts manager to look it up for me.

I found list pricing on the front dampers at $954, each. Nothing for the rear yet. I figured the F10 5 series probably uses similar technology. The fronts were $800 each, the rears were $590 each.
The real question should be how much does it cost over the non-Adaptive suspension and/or will there be an aftermarket option from Bilstein, Koni, etc. Tim Last edited by tim330i; 09-25-2012 at 06:15 AM. |

From the info that I have looked at, the adaptive suspension is covered under the factory warranty for 4 years, plus an additional 3 years if the BMW Extended Warranty is purchased with the new car. I checked the EW agreement as pertaining to Canada, and the suspension parts are NOT amongst the exclusions.
