New 2006 X5 owner with Nav ?

So I was the proud owner of an 05 X3 until Labor Day...When my wife crashed it! Don't worry she is OK, however, the X3 was totaled. Anyway, insurance was great and responsive so X3 was paid off and now we are the proud parents of a 2006 Highland Green X5 3.0i, climate package and premium package. 77K miles and beautiful beige interior...very well taken care of, engine purrs, very smooth. Anyway, I have been reading this and Xpost forums on updating firmware and maps for the Nav. Most everything I have read is very outdated like from 2006-2008.

So my question is what is the latest firmware version for the MKIV DVD Nav system?
Any secrets to making this beauty even better?
Haven't figured how to get the angle eyes only to stay on?
Any additional info would be awesome...
