Car wash anyone?
So, I read the warnings, posts. notes, advice, but still took my wagon to the car wash. I did voice my concerns to the owner of the wash regarding potential damage to the lower control arms, he assured me that with the rail system he had would not cause any damage.
Jump forward a few years, the self leveling compressor failed and whjile it was being replaced, the dealer found the left lower arm was damaged from rubbing against something. I authorized replacement annd asked the arm to be returned to me when service was completed. The worn area id bitter smooth, the rail at the car wash is plastic and on the left side of the lane. When I went to the car wash today with the arm, the owner's brother was there, his response was, "plastic can't wear away metal like that". He then added I must have hit something that caused that damage. Trying to keep calm, I asked when his brother would be in, I'll be seeing him on Friday. Hopefully he sees things a little differently than his brother does. |

Or the guide rail at this wash sits higher than others. Ageed the body moves up and down, angular change at the point of the arm is all that is going to happen, and very little even then.
