2001 530i Traction Control Problem

When I recently started my car, I noticed the traction control light on the dashboard. After a second I realized I hadnt turned it off, and that it wouldnt turn back on when I hit the button. I did a little searching around, but everything I could find was also tied to ABS, which still works just fine in my car and the ABS light is not on. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks

If you`re talking about the yellow triangle being lit up, that`s the DSC, and it could mean a dirty/corroded or faulty wheel-speed sensor.

OP was correct here, that's the DSC and the ABS light is off which means all the speed sensors are fine.

My suggestions are:
Check the tire pressure.
Read codes from DSC module, that will tell you the cause. Possible failure is the steering angle sensor or something around the secondary throttle valve. Less likely the ABS module.

Know an easy place to read the codes from the DSC? I was going to purchase one of the bluetooth OBD readers but it wasn't compatible with my phone...
