Good bye to the real AH7's

I was on the bmw site building the new 2013 AH7 and couldnt stop having the feeling that the premium AH7's have been greatly reduced in stature with the new models. Yes I understand it's more eco friendly now, but for those of lucky enough to get the previous one (especially the lease offer) I feel we are truly lucky. I love the twin-turbo V-8....I love having a car that keeps up with the Aston's,Maserati's, and AMG's......Our model (previous 2013) is a really special car...a premium 7 series....a 12.7 1/4 quarter mile ride.....but now the new model make me sigh. I feel like our car has been killed by BMW, but of course I still love the car I have, so:
Good bye to the real AH7's......

(and if you see me on the road.....there's no mistaking which one I'm driving!!)

Agree, I always think the "OLD" TTV8 + electric is the way to go!

Question

I wonder how the power delivery is in the AH7 vs 760?

I guess BMW is trying to reduce their CAFE, and if it can beat the 740s efficiency, that'd sure help them. I drove to LA and back today ~160 mi round trip, got 27.8mpg average. Not too shabby considering its only rated at 25hwy

I drove a 2011 active hybrid 750i Monday night and was amazed at the smooth power. 450 horsepower and a staggering 515 lb ft of torque. They say it will do 4.7 seconds 0-60 and many car magazines have recorded 4.4-4.5 seconds. They say it will beat the 760 no problem 0-60. My idea of what a hybrid should be.

I think my '12 AH7 was one of the best BMWs I've ever had (and I have had many!!!). It was butter smooth, FAST, responsive and the mpg was amazing, considering the size and weight of the car. I am sad BMW has made the AH7 an I6 and only available with the long wheelbase. No more std. wheelbase and no more twin turbo V-8

Hey Deutsch, a "gullwing" is fast.....like 3 1/2 0-60 right? I've always been curious why you call yourself "Deutsch"...I just got back from living in Austria for the last couple of years.

yeah...we couldnt handle it more than 2 years, although was living in Salzburg so was able to drive the German Autobahn weekly....140mph became very monotonous lol.....move back to Cali.......we are both half euro/ half american and know it's tough to live there.......great for summer vacation though.

funny i was just reading the review from Top Gear of the new 2013 AH7 and it's short and sweet.....compared to their review of the previous model, you can tell they were not as impressed.....but then again, based on the comments here, neither are we!
