When I start my car, a 2006 BMW 325i (40k) I get a warning light for service vehicle. When i go look into the service details, it says the engine oil pressure is low, the brake fluid is low and the micro filter is lights are lit up. Can anyone tell me if its safe to drive the car? What do I do? The warranty is out and I am not sure if I want to take it to the dealer. btw can anyone diagonise what the problem might be or how much it would cost if i take it to a dealer ?
thanks BG |

If it says oil pressure is low, brake fluid is low, and even the air filter needs replacing, then you should take it to the dealer. Driving without engine oil is bad as it is, but driving without adequate brake fluid is downright dangerous. Can you check the fluid levels by opening the hood?
You will definitely need to get it checked out either by a dealer, or by a good independent shop that is familiar with BMWs. How long has it been since the issues started? Does the vehicle drive fine? Any drop in MPGs?

Thanks Wingman335 for your comments
I did take it to an indy shop. He did change all the fluids back in 2011.
