E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

First trip to dealer

To recap, I bpought my 2006 convertible with 17k miles about three weeks ago. Even though the Mercedes dealer that I bought it from did an oil change, I though ir would be prudent to take it back to the local BMW dealer that it came from and let them go over it. I also wanted to get the 6 year old antifreeze flushed. They found a leaky lower hose and sensor that needed replacing. The service contract I bought covered most of that, except for the hose. They also recomended an alignment which I agreed to.

I observed the tech working and he was very thorough. Both he and the SA said the car is in amazing condition which was good to hear. The bad news is that because of the build date, the car is not compatible with the BMW iPhone integration kit, so I'm going to have to find another solution for that.

So what did all this cost? I had oil and filter service, alignment, lower hose and sensor replaced, and coolant flush and bought a 2 year service contract that includes 2 oil services and nitrogen fill plus a bunch $50 off service coupons, 2 of which I used for the alignment and flush. Total with tax was just over $800. Not a bad experience, but I hope I won't see them again for another year!

Now for new wheels and an exhaust...

Congratulations on your new ride . You did the right thing by having it inspected by the BMW dealer and the deal you got is not bad at all because a 2 year maintenance plan typically runs around $1200 to $1500. Enjoy the ride my frind. the 6 is a sweet ride. Post some pics when you can.
