I would like to see both of these work, I'll look at the MMI again for removing the disclaimer. How involved is getting the oil level to work?

Hey Stuart,
I found the MMIGT module, anything close to MMI module. When I try to read the ECU (expertmode) I get the following error.

Hi, can you post the contents of the error file in the NCS directory? That usually gives more info. I don't know the exact code to remove the legal disclaimer, I'm in the UK and we don't have that, a lot of the warning messages in the kombi for seat belts, key in ignition aren't used in the UK either.

I have replaced my original light module with an LM2 from a facelift LCI E60, I now have welcome lights and activated lights on via key fob.

You can pick an LM2 up for around £90-£150 here in the UK.

How did you determine what parameters to use for each keyword? NCSDummy doesn't show any E65 settings...

There are no negative side affects, the LM2 was used in the later E65/66's anyway.

If your car was produced before march 2003 then a minor wire change is needed, it's just swapping a pin in the connector to the light module.

Keyword parameters? Are you referring to the coding values? That's correct the LM2 does not have any coding values for chassis type, when I first fitted it the lights didn't work properly because it still thought it was in an E60!

I re-flashed the LM2 using winKFP (I'm not sure this was actually necessary, at the time I thought there must be chassis specific software installed as there were no coding parameters) this was successful and allowed me to ensure the VIN number had taken.

You then need to copy the vehicle order from the CAS and write it to the new light module, then code the light module using the expert profile, this automatically configures the light module based on your vehicle order, like if you have xenons etc....

Do not use the cowboy method of deleting the contents of a .MAN file and writing it using a coding manipulation profile, your asking for trouble. There is a correct method for doing automatic self-coding, there are loads of PWM values for the LED brightness that are coded automatically too.

You then read the trace file and edit it a you wish once you have it all working and activate the welcome lights, home lights etc.... And remove the bulb checks so you can install LED indicators etc....

Very worth while upgrade in my opinion!

No worries! Once you have it coded and working you can just play around with the settings.

Interestingly NCS expects to see an LMA when you go to read/code it, but then automatically changes to the LM2, it does not do this for the MMI, if you fit a facelift one for example. So you don't have to dummy change your production year in NCS to code it.

You know you guys can also code VIM (video in motion) in which you can play dvd movies in the front navi screen! I just coded a couple of 7s for this..A 2007 and a 2008.

I know 2007 and 2008 works. I can try this for your car if you want. I can send the modules scripts that I edited in the SPdaten for the E65. You want to try?

Where would I find what module is my MMI? No, rear ent installed. Sure, we can try..if anything tomorrow after work..?

Yes I can but you have to have the cable and the programs working on your laptop...If you dont have the programs, I do offer services to configure the laptop for people which takes about an hour or so, but I dont like doing because its a PITA to configure it.

INPA, NCSexpert is all that you would need...Plus the Dcan cable and a laptop running Windows 7 preferably 32bits...

We are going to try Video in Motion on First 745 LI tomorrow....I got it to work on a 2007 and 2008...I just read it works for 2003-2008 so we will see tomorrow....Video in motion for this application does not require any added modules or adapters to make it work...Its simple coding and edited Spdaten files which a Coding block had to be added to MMI module scripts to make it functional..
