Help with headgasket replacement

Hi I recently purchased a 1992 325i which obviousley needed to have the headgasket replaced, I was wondering if anyone who has done this before and is in the vancouver area could give me a hand because I dont really want to mess anything up or buy the camshaft lock just for a onetime use

Have you ever done this kind of work on an engine before?

Re: Help with headgasket replacement

Not really, from what ive seen on the pelican website I could probably do most of it up until the crankshafts because I do believe they have to be locked in place

It's camshafts, and if you've never done any work like that, a BMW DOHC engine isn't the place to start learning. Really.

If I were closer I'd be happy to help, but it's a heck of a hike from Alabama to 'couver.

If it is outside your scope of practice.. or you dont feel comfortable with it..
Find someone with some experience..
Check for mobile mechanics in your area..

I hope someone on here chimes in that can help ya in 'couver.
Cheers!
