All BMWs Map Update Activation Code

what version of .Net Framework do I need for SWID reader.

SWID reader is an old utility, even the very first dot net release should be good enough. If you get any missing dll error, you should get that dll and place in the same bin folder or register it separately.

Thanks. Now it runs but I have the problem that the 1b file is not read and I get the error "ifh-0009 no response from control unit". The VINs are read without any problem.

I am trying to read the 001b file from an E61 with CIC.

5 minutes earlier it worked like a charm on an F11. The E61 comes back with the following error message in SWID Reader:

Starting E-Serie....
Ediabas version 7.2.0
NET-0012: NO CONNECTION
Turn ignition ON. Try again!

Anybody can give me a hint, how to fix this.

Well, I don't think ENET Interface will work on Exx Chassis. You need a DCAN interface for Exx Chassis.

That said, I have a source than can provide Map FSC Codes from VIN only (No 1b File needed). If you want to go that route, PM me.

This E61 CIC is stock or a retrofit, and if it is a retrofit, does it have OEM FSC code with matching VIN or is it using a CAN filter?

it's an original CIC - so just the VIN should work - just wanted to save $10 ;-)

Save $10 how? What will cost an extra $10?

Well,

there are people providing the FSC for $40, but do need the 001B File. The best I quote I have seen, where you just need the VIN is $50... ;-)

Ok. Last I heard Sergej (sieras5) was at $50. If someone is selling for $40, I haven't heard. If you want the VIN only option from my source, it is $50. This is all in U.S. Dollars.

I personally used the option from Yushow- so I am fine. The Exx cars are for colleagues, so I guess 40€/50$ are still OK for them. If I could use the D-CAN cable for coding my Mini R52, I would looking into buying a cheap one - but then, as I said, I am good with the possibilities I have on the F-series - and I guess E-series will be replaced with F series in my surroundings sooner or later ;-)

What is the option from Yushow?

$40 if you can provide a 001B file - just PM him...

A little side note, when extracting the map update to a flash drive, make sure it's formatted FAT32. exFAT does not work in the BMWs.

There has to be a way to get it for free.... I personally used serge (my bro has a 335 lci and told me about him)

I put into my E60 2009 CIC with emulator with polish lenguage and Map Premium 2012.
Now, I would like to make update to 2013 but I read that I need NFS code to make update the map.
I found only information that only way is to buy this code in BMW dealer or from someone who know how to generate it.
Do you have any advise how to buy it?

Because you use a CAN Filter (emulator) for your Retrofitted CIC to enable Navigation and Voice Recognition instead or actual FSC Codes, the VIN in your CAS module and the VIN in your CIC do not match. I am not sure if that is a problem for Map FSC Code or Not.

Are your maps working now?

Are you able to use SWID Reader and pull your 1B FSC file from your CIC?

With CIC I got 3 DVDs and code and I made updates to 2012 maps by myself and it is working very well:-)

Can I find some toutorial HOW TO?

For Exx Chassis, you need an Omnitec Cable (K+DCAN USB Interface).
