I bought it 2 weeks ago. Was the GSM's demo. I was told by my service contact it had software done in August. I bought the cable from April1. Very solid looking cable.

Ok. I do not think the issue is old PSdZdata or the cable, so it is something else. What it is, I am not sure though.

Well I'm glad we were able to solve the problem. Lol. If you have any ideas let me know. I'm out next week and was hoping to mess around before I left.

I will say that when I open esys and look at help/about it shows esys 3.18.4, BUT PSDZ version 4.4.0.0. Definitely not 47.5. I can't get this to change.

Shawn,

Just dropped car off at dealer for some minor service. Will be there all week. Per key data:

Integration plant. F010-12-03-512
I-level HO. F010-12-07-531

I solved the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In version psdz data46.3 when you go on open connection:

TargetSelector:Project=F010 11 09 504,VecihleInfo=F010 DIRECT
Everything worked ok.

But now with psdz 47.5 you must go to:

TargetSelector:Project=F010 11 09 504,VecihleInfo=F010

NO " DIRECT" ,and now works.

With an I-Level of F010-12-07-531, you have one the four ISTA/P versions on your car:

ISTA/P 2.47.0
ISTA/P 2.47.1
ISTA/P 2.47.2
ISTA/P 2.47.3

It's not always and exact science as you can see. In any event, the 47.5 PSdZData is current enough for your car.

Super! Problem is it doesn't work. Lol. I have seen some batch installers that place esys and data in their correct place and presto, it works. I doubt that is my issue as I am connected. I tried the batch installer from April1 (posted here somewhere) but keeps saying directly or folder missing. I named it exactly as it is in the .bat file. Don't get it.

I could try the opposite as Vzinic and attempt direct connect at the fa screen???

I did ask dealer for updated software but will see. Have a slight tranny banging issue and somewhat rough idle. Maybe they will update it all.

I did not think to ask you that, but yes, you can not use the _DIRECT Target. I am actually surprised to hear you were able to do so with 46.3.

Thanks for figuring it out and letting people know the casue and correction.

Wait. You named what exactly as it is in the .bat file? Which one of April1's batch files did you use with your 47.5 PSdZdata, and what exactly was modified by you?

Do this:

1) Delete you entire PSdZdata folder (including all subfolders) from C:\ESysData\.
2) Without running the batch installer, manually copy the extracted PSdZData folder to C:\ESysData\ so you end up with C:\ESysData\psdzdata.
3) Try and connect.

Let me clarify. First there are quite a few slightly different install instructions around. I followed yours twice after clean install. Followed his once. I then found a file he recently updated called something like "auto_setup_esys3.18.4_PZDData_47.5.exe.bat" or something like that. Hen I ran it told me folder or directory now found "c:\bmw_esys3.18.4\esys3.18.4" and a couple other similar directories.

I did not modify his bat at all not anything else. I simply placed esys folder and PZDData folder in a folder named what the bat file was looking for that generated the errors. In other words I tried multiple different was to properly install and it may be installed fine. But I rerouted back to square one after 2 days of fiddling and torment.

Ahead of you. Did that 3 times. Also double checked est location pointing and ediasys.ini file for enet connected as well as Dist folders in each build. All there!

Add them to your existing 47.5 PSdZdata in C:\ESysData\psdzdata\swe\cafd folder.

This works for the vast majority of people, although there may be a couple CAFD's that still require the full PSdZData package such as F10 KOMBI cafd_00000069-009_000_050, and possibly F30 FEM_BODY cafd_00000794-004_124_042.
