Maintenance coming up, suggestions appreciated!
02 325xi 116k Never had the fuel filter changed to my knowledge, the transmission fluid might have been 30-50k ago, or not at all.
I plan on doing the following within the next week: - Plugs http://www.oembimmerparts.com/produc...71003x6e46.htm - Valve Cover Gasket (BMW P# 11-12-0-030-496) - Transmission fluid (I was recommended this https://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/atf.aspx?zo=1173195) - Fuel filter 13-32-7-512-019-M93 - Oil filter (would like suggestions) - Trans Filter (^) - Need new springs, possibly struts as well. Looking at these: http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/cata...UPrc46_pg1.htm other suggestions would be appreciated. Also which High Temperature RTV sealant would you all recommend? Any problems with any of this? And how long of a day do you think I have ahead of myself if I go about doing it all myself. This would be my first "major" DIY. I've changed plugs, oil before, but never on a BMW. Your help is appreciated. Last edited by bimcwe; 09-30-2012 at 09:49 PM. |

Also wondering whether or not installing Bi Xenons myself would be too difficult. I've seen the tutorials and what not, but I'm still not sure.

Use any Permatex high temp that says Sensor Free.
Whole list should take a jam packed day. Depends upon your speed. Allow enough time for more than a day. Divide the jobs into parts. Any name brand oil filter will do just fine. Mahle, Fram, Bosch. Lots of trouble for Xenons retrofitted. Think twice and don't get cheap Chinese that won't fit. Have you considered a new fuel pump? What is the condition/age of your CCV? DISA work OK? Vanos in good shape? Do the trans filter if you'll do the fluid. |

DISA, Vanos.
Had to look those up, gonna be honest. But in digression: I haven't the fogiest idea on either of those. @CCV Judging by these symptoms: Quote:
But @DISA and Vanos how would I go about checking?p.s. trans filter added.

Good idea, forgot about that.
Should I have any issues using this for my transmission fluid? http://www.oembimmerparts.com/produc...9407807e46.htm Still needing suggestions for transmission fluid, oil filter, and transmission filter(s).
