Replacing Strut Insert(HELP)!!

So i started to replace strut insert today at a hobby shop on base all the tools i needed were there. So after the car was lifted and i took off the wheel i tried to realse the tie rod from bottom of the strut that is connected by A weird looking nut/bolt.

{THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM CAME INTO PLAY}

The nut that holds the tie rod and the bottom of the strut into place keeps spinnig as if the bolt/nut diddn't even get loose and the stud and threading itself is spinning inside the bushing and nut at the end tie rod.
I also noticed that on top of the nut or i should say stud is a hex shaped but it looks like its stripped i couldn't get the hex wrecnh to loosen it so im really lost on what to do i believe its a self locking nut which means one time use which only cost a dollar or so but how do i get the nut off tie rod end and the bottom of the strut??????

Is there any other way to replace the strut insert without disconnecting the tie rod end???

To keep the tie rod end from spinning, lower the car until you can reach it with a jack. Put the jack under the tie rod end and raise it just enough to stop it from spinning. Use a 17mm socket to remove the nut. CLEAN the nut so that the socket will fully engage the flats before you go any further. Use a 6-point socket if you have one.
