2013 Production Status
Has anyone with a 2013 f10 order been able to track their vehicle status on MyBMW yet? If you are able track your order, would you please say what vehicle you ordered (528, 520d, 550, etc)?
2013 Production is supposed to start in July but does anyone know when or how long the changeover period between production runs usually takes? The above questions have been requested by my wife who is getting fed up with me obsessing over the status of the new car... Thank you.

My 2013 535xi as of yesterday was in STATUS 151 (body shop) and is scheduled to be completed today 7/4.
I am having a strange problem with tracking my new bmw through the MyBMW link. Once i add the new 2013 F10 to my account it completely freezes it and i can no longer access anything even with my current E90. I tried setting up several new accounts and the same thing happens the instant the add the F10 to my account. Been exchanging emails with bmw about this and they have been zero help. I am guessing that since the 2013 F10 isn't on bmwusa.com yet it is causing this error. Once the 2013's are posted up it should fix it but by that time my car should already be out of production. **update - my 2013 535xi is now Status 152 (paint shop) as of this morning! I believe after July, Germany will take summer holiday. I have a 2011 (July 2010 build/August 2010 delivery) and they made Combox-related changes to the production line right after my car was finished.

I ordered a 2013 535i and the build was complete July 3rd 2012. It is in status 190 (Dispatched export BMW AG). Just waiting for a ship. I added my production number to the My BMW sign in site and it's still not showing up. I called BMW NA (1-800-831-1117) and selected Vehicle Production Order from the menu. That option shows the current status of your vehicle build. Good luck

Thank you nt25940. I was able to get my status that way.
It's in production and is scheduled for completion on 7/6 Thanks everyone for the responses. My wife also thanks you.

Hello all,
I also ordered a 2013 550i xDrive about a month ago and have been entering my "production number" into the My BMW website with no luck. nt25940, where is the vehicle production order tab on the menu of the My BMW site? I can't seem to find it! Thanks, TUDM777 |

I also will have a 535 crossing the pond with yours. Mine completes build tomorrow. I am supposed to be picking it up from the Spartenburg facility, but still don't have a confirmed delivery date. Apparently BMW cannot give us a delivery date for the 2013 models until the EPA is done with their analysis. does anyone have any experience regarding how long that process takes? Trying to plan a family vacation around the performance center trip and am kinda on hold.....

My 2013 535xi production is complete and waiting for transport as of today. Any idea how long it takes for it to get on a ship from this point?

Alan,
It usually will get on the boat in less than a week after completion, then about two weeks travel time on the boat to the east coast, and finally it gets routed to your dealership fairly quickly. That's the experience I have had two times before when I lived in the northeast. Hope that helps you. Does anyone know how long it will take for a production number to show up in the my BMW website system? Its been about a month since my order and it still is not registered. To the folks who have ordered their 2013 5 series, how long did it take for your production number to be recognized? Thanks, TUDM777 |

thanks for the info. I thought the travel time across the pond to the east coast was more like 4 weeks. 2 weeks would be awesome for me since I am in NY.
My production number showed up in about 2 weeks but thats because i ordered a 2013 right when the bmw system allowed it to. I still can't track my car on the bmw website though. I can only call the 1-800-831-1117 to get an update. |

For boats which have multiple stops, it obviously takes longer. I found that cars get out of Germany pretty fast between late June and early August since they want to clear the system and go on holiday. My car went Germany > Southampton [England] > Brunswick, GA [USA] pretty quick. It sat at the dock for a business day or two + weekend, then transport was a day. All in all, my car was ordered July 9 [2010], started build July 12 (or over the weekend, not sure), and was at the dealer by August 10. |

when I ordered my car, the dealer stated I should be able to take delivery at the Performance Center in early August. today I received this from the performance center:
"Good morning Mr. XXXXX, We simply just block out space for EPA vehicles so there is some available spots to schedule their delivery when the vehicles are released. At this time, we have not been given any estimate as to when BMW expects to receive the EPA/CARB approvals for your vehicle. If the approvals are received in time, you would be looking at an early September delivery based on the production date of your vehicle along with the shipping time it takes for it to reach us and be prepped. It normally takes 8 weeks from completed production to delivery at our facility (without EPA holds being factored in). In the past, we’ve seen the vehicles held at the US port more than 4 weeks while waiting for the approvals, so you potentially could be looking at an October delivery date if that happens. I hope this helps give you a better idea of the time frame to expect. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Best regards, BMW Performance Center Jonathan Stribble Product & Delivery Support Specialist 1155 Highway 101 S Greer, SC 29651" Has anyone else experienced this issue? this is WAY off what was promised to me. ![]()

^^ I would NOT be a happy person if I had to wait another 2-3 months to get my F10 just because of this EPA certification thing. It would not be good for Bmw.

On the other hand, if they are anticipating a lot of EPA ratings changes, it might mean (MAYBE) that they have a new engine for the 550 or some possible changes for the 535.

Wait a minute, does this mean all 2013 F10's will be delivered late? This is horrible news! I wonder if this a 535 issue or all F10 deliveries? I feel your pain, that would not be cool.
If anybody hears anything else please post! I am gonna call me dealer to try and get the scoop, will post any useful info. Sorry to hear the bad news c4jaha! Best of luck to us all, seems like we will need it StoneHauler, great point, it would at least make me feel a little better if the 550 gets the engine upgrade

^^ Glad it wasn't only me. I must have created 3 new accounts and each time i add the F10 the account becomes useless.
As of today my 2013 has been released and on its way to port! Alan |

well, my car is still in the paint shop, still reading a completion date of today. It looks like the BMWNA line, for at least my car, is not updating at the moment.

here's an interesting tidbit I can offer:
I went to my local dealership to put in an order for a 550. CA pulled up BMWs computerized entry form, and paged thru looking for the first available 550 build. There were 120 build slots available, which appeared to cover July and August production of ALL BMWs. NOT A SINGLE 550 in the queue. "Hmm, that's interesting!" says he. "There's usually quite a few 550 slots. I will have to call them in NJ and find out what's going on." It was 456PM Friday, Central time, so he said they won't be available to answer questions until Monday morning. Do you think that thus is further evidence that they've made a last minute, significant change to the 2013 550s? stonehauler, you sure your car is in the paint shop? Ps there were lots of 535 and 528 slots. |

That is what the automated response is saying. I will be checking more on Monday. My dealer had 1-550 allocation available, but these were based on his report in early June for July production. The automated system said it was in production and scheduled for completion July 6. Now all it's saying is that it is in the paint shop, still anticipated for completion July 6. But because of the times I checked, I would expect it to be moving through the rest of assembly.
I don't mind waiting if there is a change, I would just like to know, if for no other reasons than for delivery purposes and scheduling my trade

My vehicle has been released to a carrier for transportation to port of exit, so it looks like it was just an update glitch.
