New 550i M Sport Owner

Hey Everyone i just got my 2012 BMW 550i M Sport and i am loving every second of it i was very impressed and surprised with the power of it i was not expecting it at all i just figured out how to do launch control and everything else your guys's form really helped me i just had a few questions if you dont mind answering them right now my car is bone stock with 5500 miles i recently went to las vegas speedway ( witch is a slow track ) and did a 12'900 W launch control 13'000 without i was wondering if any other 550i owners have seen the numbers on there cars also i was wanting some feedback on that Also whenever i burn a CD and pop one in the car it will never give me a name or title just says track 1 track 2 etc etc is there anyway i could fix that Hoping to hear some responses from you guys

How are you doing launch control?

Put the car in sport + then hold the traction control down untill dsc is completely off put the gear lever in sport mode hold on the gas and brake all the way down

12.9 secs sounds really good for a stock 550. The car mags have recorded 13.1-13.4 secs. Do have your other details: 60ft time, trap speed, race weight?

As far as the CD, I can't help you, since in a year and a half of ownership I still haven't used a CD yet.

Regarding the CD, it all depends on how you burn it. If you burn it as MP3 data disc, or even better, use a USB stick, it will show the names of the songs and album art, if the MP3 tags are correct.

The feature with seeing burned CD information has to do with a little used part of the CD spec called CD-Text. This embeds the name of the song in the CD in some way that players so equipped can read them. The burning software needs to support that feature. I don't think iTunes or the Windows Disc Burner do. I know that Roxio did, if they even make the software anymore. Just use MP3 on a USB stick. Much more capacity and ease of use.

What's your hwy rated at? I drive 90% highway and my 4400lb I6 F02 is getting about 1-2city and 4-5hwy mpg over the EPA estimates pretty easily in comfort mode.

I'm averaging over 24 in the nearly 8,000 miles I have had my 550. I have three trips that were 98% freeway that I averaged 27.4 on two of the trips, and 27.8 on one earlier this week.

12.9 extremely fast for this car, especially with a 2.1 60' time. Sounds like conditions were nearly perfect. I have never heard of a true launch control on this car. Sounds like all your really did was turn off traction control. Where did you learn about the launch control?

I only have 1500 mile on my 550i but have yet to have a fill-up that was less than 23 mpg (calculated by hand).

i was just messing around with everything i noticed everytime i turned the DSC completely off the car would always take off in 2nd gear so i put it in sport mode and launch control lol thanks
