Why would you have a "bad feeling" about that? BMW might very well have targeted their typical buyers with comfort mode.
A lot of people have harped on the prospect of losing the in-line 6 for the N20.
Yes, plenty of people are Camry/Accord-appliance types who cannot be bothered and will savor the COMFORT setting.
But, to the past BMW owners, the gripers of the E46 or E90 growing into the F30, or the loss of the 6, for the 4, these are the people I hope know to exploit the potential of the car and selecting the proper setting.
