Car starts only on reverse
I have encountered a problem all of a sudden, I have a 2008 525d manual and after coming to a stop I tried to turn on the car by pressing in the clutch but the engine tried turning them died and every time I tried starting it all I hear is a tick noise. As my car could only be pushed back at the time I tried to jump start it in reverse but as I put it in reverse gear and pressed the ignition it started up perfectly fine. I thought it was a minor setback but now it happens all the time and it only starts up when I put the car lever in reverse whilst pressing in the clutch. Has something happened for this to happen? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanking you in advance

The Neutral Safety Switch in or on the transmission needs to be adjusted.

Could I do it myself or would it require serious labour where a professional should get to it to adjust?
