homemade silicone boot

My stock intake boot was showing it's age so instead of buying a new oem or a high dollar silicone boot I just made my own. I bought a 3in 90 silicone tube from www.fast-turbo.com for $13. All I really had to do was cut two holes, one for the ccv and one for the cold idle valve then used silicone gasket sealer to make sure there weren't any leaks. I had to cut a little length off but other than that simple and cheap.

I've only driven a few blocks to make sure it would work but I'll let you all know if the butt dyno reads any higher.

So after a few days of driving with the new intake boot I think I can say without a doubt there is a difference. It really does feel like it pulls stronger and idles better. Im not sure if its because they really do make a difference or just because my old intake boot was so jacked .
