Mein Auto: 328i Sport En Route
2013 328i vs 2013 328i xDrive

I am buying this car probably within 1-2 weeks. Just confused what to go with. I am going to add a sport package to my order but not sure if xDrive is going to have the sport+ mode in it.
If you guys can help me with that it would be awesome...

Thanks

Sport plus mode only alters thresholds of intervention of traction control. You want more adjustability--add DHP.

xDrive cannot be equipped with the sport suspension. If the sport suspension is important to you then the xDrive is a non-starter.

But you can option the x-drive with the adaptive suspension which is quite a bit better than the sport suspension.

In PA? I probably would just go with RWD and get winter tires. If you live in a hilly area and do a lot of commuting then perhaps x-drive is worth it to you.

If you get x-drive the car defaults to all season tires, but you can choose an option for z-rated high performance tires. If you don't get the z-rated performance tires then the car does not have the 150mph speed limiter (limited to 130 mph). Otherwise sport modes, sport+, etc, are the same.

That's why I specifically stated sport suspension.

So, even if I don't get the sport suspension I will have the sport+ mode except increased speed limiter?
And if I choose to have performance tires I will get the increased speed limiter too? Is the performance tire option free or does it cost any money. I have already stretched myself 3-4K above my budget. I can't stretch anymore

You will only get the sport+ mode if you order EITHER the sport package OR the adaptive-m suspension (or obviously if you order both).

higher (150mph) top speed limiter is only available on sport or adaptive-m model cars that have the high performance summer tires, otherwise the speed is governed to 130mph.

If you get an x-drive car plus sport line then you are getting all of the cosmetic stuff, the nice sport seats, but you aren't getting the sport suspension... you would have to add the adaptive-m package to get a better suspension.

If you get an x-drive car without sport line you don't get sport+, but as other people commented, all it does is disable the stability control... which won't do as much on an AWD car as it does on a RWD car.

If price is a problem, BMW is probably a poor choice (you can get a very well equipped Audi A4 Quattro for about $42K).

You are correct, xdrive with sport line gets you the cosmetic stuff, sport seats, and the stock suspension...as well as sport+ mode. You have to add adaptive-m package to get the better suspension (btw, the adaptive suspension kicks ass big time) and you will also get dynamic steering. However, you will not get the lower springs that are found on the RWD cars with either sport or dynamic suspensions.

Thanks dude, you have been extremely helpful...the only reason I am asking these questions are CA I met at my dealer's location were pretty old and he wasn't as smart as a BMW CA suppose to be. He couldn't configure my car the way I wanted and when I said I can do it online then he replied that everything you see online is not true. LOL...he said everything is not true at bmwusa.com...

bmwconfig.com for the win... also shows you invoice price which is good for negotiations.

Also, there is a code for choosing summer tires with sport x-drive model cars, otherwise they come with all seasons. It is a no cost option.

Yes indeed. It's like I have two cars. The sporty yet comfortable sedan with a compliant ride in comfort mode that also returns over 30mpg on my mixed commute and the fire breathing monster that wants to be let off the chain when it's in sport mode.

If your production ends Oct 2nd it's unlikely it gets on a boat for the 3rd.

First world problems.

Seriously, you'll get over it. It used to take 3-4 months to custom order a car from Germany.
