PCD Experience Notes

Hi Everyone -

My wife and I took delivery of a 2015 X3 M-Sport at the Performance Center in Spartanburg last week and I wanted to pass along a few comments for those of you who may be undecided on if you want to take delivery this way:

JUST DO IT.

Seriously :-)

The overall experience was fantastic, from the accommodations at the Marriott to the driving instruction to the factory tour. It was beyond obvious that these folks knew exactly what they were doing throughout the entire process. Even the food at the Performance Center was outstanding!

One bit I was not expecting was the 'hot lap' we all got to take in an M5 with our instructor, where we got up to over 115 on the back straight then a spin around the skid-pad. AWESOME. (My wife was less impressed than me on this one.. ha).

Getting to Spartanburg one-way for us (we live north of Detroit) was actually more expensive than round-trip tickets to Los Angeles. With that being said, we would do this again in a heartbeat if we ever get another new BMW.

If anyone has any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask!

-Craig

Is Donnie Isley still there? Man that guy had the best job in the world when I met him in 2007.

It's possible. There were a number of driving instructors there -- we had a gentleman named Paul who ultimately ended up eating lunch with my wife and I. They did make jokes that "this is what we get paid to do!" a couple of times. Pretty funny.

I was there for the driving school last month. Donnie Isley is still there, but I did not see him. He is still racing Formula Vee too.

If you think that the Performance Center Delivery is fun, I can attest that the Performance Driving School is even better.
