Soooo, I just finished Fixing my ( L7) Logic 7 amp....

Not sure I'd do it again if I had to

Ok, I'm a master @ Welding (I'd like to think so )...but Soldering!?!?!, not so much! I've done a sum in the past but nothing like this*

Anywayz, My L7 went out (subs only) a while back. I was going to send it off to the guy that everyone uses but figured I'd try it myself after seeing the DIY instructions posted by "PAPER"

Got a hook up on the parts I needed...I wish I had taken the rest, but silly me just got what I needed.

What i'm trying to figure out now is the best way to mount the new chips to the amp body.

Lets just hope the car doesnt catch fire now!

*small Asian hands help!

I drill a holes and put them on bolts pluss don't froget to use thermal paste between chip and l7 box also good idea to put some radiators on other side to make heat sink to cool off chips. Also is your cooling fan works?? If not you need to fix thet to

Any chance you could post a pic or type out how to remove the L7 amp? I start n every time I end up giving up. I must be doing something wrong, it just seem to hard to get it out.

They are a little long, but it allowed me to move them a bit for mounting below the upper circuit board.

Thank you si much! Youve been a great help

I picked up a 12v fan controller that I'll just run to the fan via a relay. I thought about wiring a temp sensor but thats probably overkill. It will just run whenever the amp powers up.

Thanks again!!!!

But what about original transistors
Bipolar one?? Simply bypass it using same +12v intended for chips? Originally it's controlled via CPU on the upper board.
Isn't it easier to use existing high tech logic instead?
Also don't forget about head ask unit. It's gonna die if you like it loud

Was thinking...has anyone ever tried to reflow the circuit board? I could be wrong...as usual but Reading thru many post where I find people are experiencing the amp working fine and then having sub channels go out within minutes.

I SUSPECT its the fan that goes first and the board is a victim of poor solder or cold solder spots that lose contact as soon as it heats up a bit.

I dunno, one day I'll grab a broken one off the bay and see what happens if I re-flow the board.

The way I did this was the quickest for me without trying to re-engineer the Amp...above my skill level

oh, ASK unit is sounding "scratchy"...this car is getting on my nerves now! LoL!

If it has any static next month....the entire audio system is going Aftermarket

Aftermarket sounds crazy in e65
You're gonna lose pretty much all e65 toys: navi, pdc, voice control etc.
So fix the ask unit as you did with L7.
