this is cooland easy to do. I just ordered a set of projector lights to do the same set-up.
here is another idea: install one under the front bumper and one under the rear bumper and hook them up to a manual switch so you can turn the lights on when you park the car in a public place.

That's really slick, especially for those of us who like to tinker with the lighting!

I did mine about 6 months ago. I still crack up everytime I open the door at night. After July 4th fireworks I had a crowd around the car. I almost always forget about them unless it's night time.

This is totally cool, but I don't know if get what's going on and how you do it.

Do I just swap the existing light under my door with these ones on ebay that has the BMW logo?

Yes it seems that simple. You have to solder the projector wires into the existing light fixture but that seems to be all there is to it. (I hope) I just ordered a set and hope that they are there when I get back home on the 10th.

Looks simple since we already have lights under the doors. Just need to drill the clear cover to insert the new element and wire up.

Let us know how it goes, my kids would love it.

That's exactly what I did as you see from the pictures. I found it easier to just drill the plastic Lens rather than drill a hole in the bottom of the door panel.
Plus I can just get new lens covers if I want to delete them later. Only problem I had was soldering the wires on the metal to where the oem bulb goes I had to scuff it good for the solder to stick.
You can also just use terminals and push them on the bulb housing. Also depending on how tall the new projectors you buy are.. It might be tough pushing it in because of clearance in the door panel ... I had to persuade mine a bit till they snapped into place. Pull the lens and feel around you'll see what I mean.

I am so tempted, it looks very cool! But it just seems to much "BMW" for me, kinda like going places wearing a BMW hat or shirt. I cannot decide...

Gotta do it. It's really funny. Freaks out parking attendants at night. My kids friends love it. Everyone that's sees it laughs in a good way.

just finished installing the projector lights. took me just a few min for one side, hardest part is to get the solder to stick to the original light fixture., had to use the bench grinder to roughen up the metal and it still would not stick. Keeping the soldering iron on the metal to warm it up did the trick.
another tip: don't be as nosy as I was and take the whole projector light apart to see what it looks inside, there are 5 lenses of different shapes plus the disc with the logo, I just had one disc fall out and sure enough I installed her the wrong way. Had to take everything apart again to fix the problem.
