E39 A-S Rechts what is this

Found this in driver side A pillar , ~1" paper square with some metallic wire inside

Maybe it has something to do with radio interference ??

Maybe GPS antennae? It's hooked up if you have the option.

looks like a RFID tag. Like work access cards, just not cased in plastic.

Suggestion seem to be for tracking the car through production/deliver.

Adolf Hitler put it there to track the Americans.

This looks like an RF ID tag for production purposes.

rechts = right
links = left

A-S may stand for "aussen seite" (exterior side) or A-Säule (A pillar). Probably the latter.

Bingo, it's an RFID tag that was used to track each vehicle through production at the factory.
(Unless the CIA has a reason to be concerned with your car's location at all times)

Wow. Creepy thoughts come to mind on the RFID tracking!

I added this to the bestlinks reference:
- BMW E39 technoterms, acronyms, glossary, definitions slang, technical terms, abbreviations (1)

Which already had:
- links (li.) left
- rechts (re.) right

But, nothing for A.S. Rechts or A.S. Links.

As far as I can see after one week my FM noise is gone so my vote goes to some form of noise/interference rejection.

Whatever it is, it's cool and not common on any cars I've seen so far and it fixed my issue radio issue
