Driver's Door Locks but Won't Unlock

I have CA. My driver's side front door will lock with the remote but won't unlock. It also will not unlock using the button on the dash. It only unlocks with the key or by pulling on the handle inside the car.

I hear it clicking to unlock. I checked fuses 56 and 57. I think fuses 2, 63 and another one too. There were all good.

Any suggestions before I bring it in?
Thank you.

My passenger door did the exact same thing and they said the actuator needed replacing. As I recall it was around $150.

The same thing happened to my 2007 328i..

The fuse kept blowing so the shop ended up replacing the actuators under warranty.

There are several complaints about door locking issues for your year, model in NHTSA's complaint database, but dozens of door locking complaints for other E9x later models. At least you haven't been locked in your car yet like others! BMW certainly knows that they have some issues. You may want to examine the complaints in NHTSA's database for your own awareness. Google: NHTSA complaints
I find that this always helps when the SA or BMW NA gives you that look or attitude that your 'issue' is the first case they've ever heard of.

If it is covered, you would only be required to pay a $50 fee as part of the CPO agreement. Ask your dealer if it's covered.

For future reference lock actuators are covered by the CPO warranty.

Comfort Access - doors unlock automatically when you grab the door handle.

This exact issue happened to my 2007 BMW328i several months ago. It was a fuse issue and it was inexpensive to fix! Good luck

Did you have to replace the actuator too? Did it repeat?

The only thing I needed to replace was the fuse. It has never happened again.....
I hope this helps and you get it resolved soon.

We replaced the entire fuse box then the actuator went. I just traded it back to the dealership and got an incredible deal on a newer (less sexy) car
