Finally a diesel Tiguan! About time. Now, what about a Passat TDI sportwagen? Like BMW failing to put their 35d in the 5 series (where it would have sold like hotcakes) chosing instead the smaller 3 series were it didn't sell well enough to keep it alive here. Now VW which up until recently I always felt had a great handle on diesel marketing dropped the ball on the Tiguan here, until now I suppose. I forgive them the Amarok because of the arcane tax rules, but there was no excuse for not bringing an oil burning Tig here, nor the larger Passat sportwagen either. Oh well at least they will arrrive about the same time as the new Q5TDI which should be an interesting ride in unto itself.

@UncleJ Im with you BMW could of sold the I6 Twin Turbo DIesel in the BOTH 3 & 5 Series, and more so on the 5 series. I saw the Tiguan 2 liter Diesels in Dominican republic, its the same freaking 2 liter engine that the Golf and Jetta has!!!!! WTF does marketing for these knuckleheads, I for one would of bought the TIGUAN DIESEL!! Instead I might look it up for girlfriend whom I may marry ( Ah **** I said marry her, f'me Im in Love, LOL!!) Anyway, I think the X1 is on the way side TOO expensive but the PEOPLE's Car the VW is my next best bet.
