2000 323 5 speed odometer illegible due to orange smudged light, can it be repaired

I can't read the mileage due to this light smudge. Can this be fixed, if yes, how?

A picture or video would help.
BMW imbedded an orange dot in the cluster to indicate any tampering with the odometer. Was it in this present condition when you bought the car ?

Thanks. Just figured out how to upload. To answer your question, no it was not. It sat under hot Florida sun for about 2 years.

That cluster is done. Time to replace or repair assuming you can find someone with the skills. Scott comes to mind but I don't know how much he would charge for that.
