service miles arnt counting down ?

Hi all (first post and all)

to my question Ive recently just got a E90 320D Msport 57plate and its by far superior to my last, however Ive just noticed lately that the mileage for servicing, brake changing etc isnt counting down, unlike one of my friends which I believe is an e45, mine merely states 13,000 or whatever dependable on what specifically it is followed by a date.... is there somthing wrong with this, is it a menu option im overlooking or are the e90's different to e45s etc ?

hope you can help

As any good pilot would say, you have to trust your instruments. My CBS indicator wasn't constantly running down. I wouldn't completely rely on the CBS mileage for all required maintenance as my recent experience proved. In the U.S. BMW wants an oil change each year regardless of he CBS indication. Spark plug changes are also "off" the CBS system...there are certainly others. In other words, consult your Service and Warranty Information booklet for odometer related or other time related service requirements. Your country may vary from the U.S.

I think it's to the nearest thousand miles so at some point it'll display 12,000.

It also knows when your MOT is due, so the date being displayed may be your next MOT date - if that's before the service is due.
